Thinking
about broadband?
access to pages on aspects to consider when
thinking about broadband, added to the website on
17th August 2003.
Welcome to ELMSWELL.NET
This website aims to bring together the
group of villages served by the Elmswell
telephone exchange, i.e with numbers commencing
"01359 24" in support of obtaining
broadband internet.
The exchange covers Elmswell and Woolpit and
extends into parts of neighbouring villages such
as Wetherden, Drinkstone, Great Ashfield, Tostock
and Haughley Park.
Although this area is intersected by both the A14
trunk road and the railway line, thanks to the
internet we have a surprisingly large local
digital community made up of internet and e-mail
users plus numerous websites.
This website will focus exclusively on this
digital scene and its need for broadband internet
access. It will not encroach on the roles of the
existing websites which provide local village
information.
Local SITES
A preliminary search of the internet produced an
impressive list of about 120 websites with
connections to the Elmswell telephone exchange.
These encompass village and community websites,
personal pages, local clubs and societies, food,
drink and accommodation, businesses and companies
in the area.
The list on the SITES page
gives access to a short description and links to
each site.
Please help us to complete and correct this
information and advise us of any missing entries.
We'll be working on this site as time permits and
try to add a bit of FUN.
